Honeybees are vital to our global food system as pollinators, but unfortunately honeybees today face a huge threat, disappearing in record numbers due to a phenomenon called Colony Collapse Disorder. Our newest living design, called BEEcosystem    is an indoor beehive that literally brings your living room to life—or an outdoor beehive to bring your garden abuzz with activity.

By practicing beekeeping at home,   you   can contribute to helping our pollinator allies, by increasing local honeybee genetic diversity and bringing awareness to this critically important issue in your neighborhood and community.   BEEcosystem    is a hive small enough to be manageable in even nontraditional beekeeping spaces, but large enough to produce a raw cut-comb honey harvest.  Unlike existing observation hives, BEEcosystem    grows right along with your colony, expanding across your wall in any hexagonal design you can imagine.

BEEcosystem is both indoor and outdoor wall-mountable.  Outdoor models come with a stylish metal roof, to keep your bees happy and dry on even the rainiest days—while indoor models come with a transfer tube and window connection unit, so your bees can come and go freely from their outdoor flights in search of floral pollen and nectar.  No matter which model you choose, you’ll enjoy the same unparalleled viewing access into the private lives of your honeybees.

BEEcosystem's modular expansion works using our patent pending ventilation-to-crawlway magnetic points. Because both side vents and additional HexHive bodies attach magnetically, by simply sliding out one of the four side vents, another HexHive body is attached to create a more spacious hive interior—giving your colony of honeybees more room to grow and thrive.
